Kris Murphy
Kris MurphyChairperson
Kris Murphy became involved with Plano Children’s Theatre in 2013 after seeing her child literally grow an inch taller when she took the stage for the first time — she knew she had discovered something pretty magical. Since then, her daughter has continued to grow in her confidence, abilities and love for musical theatre through her involvement with NTPA, and Kris has become more and more involved as a parent volunteer. In an effort to help bring the same ncredible performing arts opportunities to Dallas youth, she worked with the team that initiated NTPA — Dallas in 2016 and joined the board in 2017. When she is not volunteering or helping her daughter prepare for a show, Kris works as a copywriter and graphic designer, is the mom of two amazing kids and co-manages her household with her equally amazing husband, Brandon. She graduated with a BFA from the communication design program at the University of North Texas.
Connor Bourland
Connor Bourland
Connor is an Associate Attorney with the Dallas office of Thompson & Knight in their Trial Section and is the husband of NTPA Resident Director Bethany Bourland. He received his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2018.
But Connor’s first love is and always has been theatre. A native of Colleyville, Texas, and Wichita, Kansas, Connor grew up performing on stage with Music Theatre of Wichita and Music Theatre for Young People – Wichita. Connor received his B.F.A. in Drama: Acting Emphasis from the University of Oklahoma Peggy Dow Helmrich School of Drama in 2015, where he spent four years music directing the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity in the annual “U-Sing” and “Scandals” musical revue shows. Connor is also a member of the OU Theatre Guild Board of Directors and attributes much of personal and professional growth to his theatre background. Connor truly appreciates the irreplaceable value of youth theatre and theatre education. (And he misses performing a lot!)
Connor spends his free time rooting for OU football and basketball (Boomer!), volunteering as a Music Director for NTPA shows, sailing, traveling, playing with his dog Judge, and listening to Bethany talk about how much she loves her NTPA kiddos.
Tiffany Brooks
Tiffany Brooks
Tiffany joined the NTPA – Dallas Board of Directors in 2017, and was an active member of the theater’s Founding Committee throughout 2016. Tiffany is a licensed real estate agent and lover of the arts–holding a BA in Music–and enjoys singing in her husband’s band in her “free” time. Her most privileged profession is mom to Taylor and Grayson, to whom she has passed on her love for the arts. Her daughter, Taylor, has been a proud supporter of NTPA since her very first production. She cherishes the lessons learned–both on and off the stage–with each experience, as well as her theater “family” that continues to expand. Though her son has yet to take the stage, she hopes Grayson–who has never missed a performance of Taylor’s, will one day join the NTPA family with his sister. Because this theater has meant so much in her own family’s life, Tiffany is committed to helping bring these character building, life changing experiences through NTPA to as many children as possible!

Claire Greenfield Hess
Claire Greenfield Hess
Claire Hess became involved in NTPA when her daughter Lily tried out for her first NTPA production, Annie, Jr. Several NTPA plays later, her daughter still talks about how much “fun” that first NTPA experience was. As Lily has performed in more plays, Claire and her husband Tim have seen that acting is more than just “fun” to their daughter but it is also a helpful creative outlet as she navigates adolescence. Claire is a Dallas area native, holds a BA in Psychology from UT Austin, and is a registrar and purchasing assistant at Founders Classical Academy of Lewisville. She is also mom to three kids ages eight to fourteen. She looks forward to supporting NTPA’s mission to bring fine arts opportunities to more local children.
Sara Johnson
Sara Johnson
Sara Johnson has been involved with NTPA – Dallas since her son auditioned for the inaugural show. Watching him find his “home” in theatre and seeing how it provides a safe welcoming place for kids to grow in confidence and aspire for excellence spurred her decision to join the Dallas board. Sara is a lover of learning. Having already earned a B.S. in Agricultural Journalism from Kansas State University and an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University, Wichita, Kansas, she is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy and Political Economy at the University of Texas Dallas. She’s also a certified running coach, training all ages and levels of runners, and the developer of a program to train five- to twelve-year-old DFW runners to participate in their first 5K or mile run. Some of her other passions are helping her son prepare for shows, traveling with her daughter to figure skating competitions and running with her husband, Jay.
