She became involved at MYT when, after her daughter Sophie’s first show, Sophie said, “When I’m at theatre, I feel like I am home.” Trysh truly loves MYT, and the difference it makes in the lives of so many children and families. She loves that her whole family can be a part of theatre productions through volunteering. The MYT family is a HUGE part of heart heart and she is honored to serve.
She feels MYT is a second family to her children. She know there are many more children in McKinney who could benefit from our theatre, and she has made it her mission to find them.
She believes youth involvement in the arts strengthens not only their confidence and leadership skills, but also has a positive impact on math and reading scores, absenteeism and graduation rates. Additionally, she feels the youth are better prepared to productively enter the workforce as teen workers.
Mary Kay also volunteers in a variety of other community areas and believes that one person can make a difference by giving of their time and talents.
She volunteered to be a part of the MYT Board because she knows first hand how theatre positively influenced her life and she sees it doing even more incredible things for her kids. She wants to help MYT grow so as many families as possible can experience the magic of our theatre family.
She volunteers for MYT because her daughter Audrey loves performing. Their family fell in love during our first play with meeting new friends and the level of professionalism.
She believes the theatre helps children grow creatively, academically, and socially. She looks forward to serving and growing MYT in 2015-2016 and continuing to meet new friends.
She loves to work with the great group of students at MYT, and is excited about her new role as Programming Chair.
Cherlyn’s children, Kaylie and Austin, have been actively involved with North Texas Performing Arts for over three years. The impact the performing arts have had on their lives inspired Cherlyn and her husband, Andy, to volunteer their time to support the organization.
She is excited to be part of the McKinney Youth Theatre Board and looks forward to the positive impact MYT will have on the families in McKinney and the surrounding communities.
Her passion for theatre began in 2010 during her daughter’s first production at MYT; her son joined the NTPA family in 2014. Watching this theatre grow has been a true joy of hers. She has volunteered in near every role in the theatre from Show Parent to Backstage Coordinator to Concessions Parent to Volunteer Coordinator. Rozalyn has been a huge advocate for the growth of MYT, has found true joy in watching it flourish, and is proud to serve on the MYT Advisory Board.
Stacy is passionate about serving and thrilled to join the MYT Board. She is excited to help as the Board works to find MYT a permanent home. Her goal is to keep MYT a place where all kids can be celebrated and applauded for their talents and unique abilities.
Ron and his family live in McKinney and his wife is an elementary school teacher in the district and his daughter Paige and son Bryce have participated in numerous shows.
