Riley Graygrove – Managing Director, NTPA – Starcatchers
Riley joined the NTPA staff in May 2020 and is ecstatic to be working with the Starcatchers! Riley graduated Cum Laude from Ball State University in 2016, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychological Science and a minor in Theatre. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Drama Therapy from Kansas State University in 2018.
Riley worked on a geriactric behavioral unit in Kansas City, Missouri before relocating to Plano, where she is now one of thirteen Drama Therapists in all of Texas! She is now pursuing her Registered Drama Therapist credential through the North American Drama Therapy Association. In her undergraduate training, Riley has performed as an actor and had the privilege of working with Sutton Foster, Jonathan Groff, Jennifer Blackmer, and David Strickland. She has also trained under notable drama therapists Sally Bailey, Paige Dickinson, and Tracena Marie. Riley has provided programming and engagement for children and adults with various disabilities for over ten years through adaptive recreation summer camps, residential services, therapy services, in-patient hospitals, and community theatre programs. Her past favorite credits with this population include three Barrier-Free Theatre productions (Super Ability, Achilles Under the Sea, and Monster M.D.) and If By Yes.
Riley uses a strengths-based, student-focused approach in her programming and she seeks to instill empathy, engagement, and empowerment in all Starcatchers programs. She is looking forward to directing Starcatchers shows and helping build the Therapeutic Theatre Program to even greater heights!
Lindy Waldmeier – Therapy Programs Assistant
Lindy Waldmeier is the Therapy Program Assistant Director for the Starcatchers program, as well as an Adjunct Director at NTPA. She obtained a Masters of Music in Voice Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from University of Louisiana, and a Masters of Arts in Music Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. Lindy has performed as a soloist with the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, the Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra, and has performed in various Opera and Musical Theater productions. Most notably, Lindy played the principle role as Marcelina in Le Nozze di Frigaro, and Sally Bowles in Cabaret. Lindy has performed internationally at the Real Conservatorio de Musica in Granada, Spain, under the tutelage of world-renowned opera singer Teresa Berganza. For over 15 years, Lindy has enjoyed her career as a music educator both in the classroom, and as a private voice and piano instructor. As music therapist, Lindy currently works in Azle ISD, and continues to work in diverse clinical settings with children and adults, with varied physical, emotional, and intellectual disabilities.
Jasmine Mathew, CTRS – Starcatchers Choreographer
Jasmine Mathew was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. After growing up with a love of theater and performing dances, Jasmine graduated from Temple University with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation and has been an active Recreation Therapist since 2001, working with pediatric rehab patients, traumatic brain injury patients, nursing home and acute care residents & medical day center kids in PA, NJ, NY & CT. She also worked for Arya Dance Academy in NY, teaching Bollywood dance. After working with “Stretch-n-Grow,” a pre-school ballet & jazz dance company in TX, Jasmine combined her love of working with people with disabilities and her love of dance in her own business “Jasmine’s Beat,” an Adaptive Dance Company that provides inclusive fusion dance classes for people of all abilities. Jasmine is happily married and mom to three beautiful kids, TJ, Arielle and Leo. Her hobbies include dancing, watching movies with friends, and hanging out with her family.
