In January 2021 NTPA Frisco presented the inaugural production in Frisco’s brand new Nack Theatre located in Frisco’s Rail District, The Nack Theatre. The new 200-seat performing arts venue built by Nack Development features “throwback architecture” making the venue look and feel like a historic community theatre. As the resident theatre company, Aladdin JR. was the first of dozens of shows performed by NTPA – Frisco throughout the year.
With performance spaces at the Plano Willow Bend Center of the Arts, Fairview Youth Theatre, and NTPA – Dallas Black Box, NTPA – Frisco entered into a relationship two years ago to become the resident theatre company for the Nack Theatre.
NTPA – Frisco has performed shows across the metroplex since its founding in 2017. “Frisco is Texas’ sports capital and its families love the performing arts, but there just haven’t been enough stages on which to showcase all of its talent,” says CEO Darrell Rodenbaugh. “We’ve been forced to limit our growth in Frisco and to perform in non-Frisco venues, so our new Nack Theatre allows us to bring NTPA – Frisco home.”
The Nack Theatre allows students to have hands-on experience in a professional mainstage theatre. NTPA – Frisco will perform dozens of shows each year in this space that will be shared alongside professional comedians, singers, and other programs hosted in the venue. NTPA is excited for the opening of the brand new performance space to provide us with many new opportunities.
